A possible financial dispute may have led to a sex ad being placed on Craigslist using a Hinsdale woman's stolen identity. Police said that a "known suspect" — a contractor hired to do work at the woman's home — placed a sexually explicit ad on the Internet, using the woman's name, address and phone after both parties had a falling out.
The woman was unaware of the Craigslist ad, which also included a photo of a female in a sexually suggestive pose, until she started getting phone calls from gentlemen, police said. The ad was red-flagged and Craigslist immediately removed it. The woman believes that a contractor she hired to do some work in her home may be behind the ad after the two argued the quality of the contractor's work, in which money was owed.
